Clinical practice with Empathy and respect

My history with horses is long and varied, as is my history with healing arts.

I came to horses as many folks do - with riding. I trained in hunter-jumper and dressage disciplines in my home state of California. After leaving sport and taking a long hiatus from horses, I found my true passion by working in rescue and rehabilitation. My connection with horses grew and deepened as I focused on understanding, communication, and interpersonal relationships. I spent years working with horses in varied environments from private farms and educational/training facilities to sanctuaries and equine facilitated therapy practices. Across these diverse experiences, I honed my ability to listen to the animals, and to take in the important lessons they offer.

After working as a nationally certified human massage therapist, facilitating healing in mental health practice, and deepening my understanding of our world in graduate study, I began to forge a path which brought many of my values and passions together - equine bodywork.

I bring my breadth of experience with both horses and humans to my practice, and hold myself to the highest standard of care. I strive for deeply ethical and empathetic work, endeavoring to honor my clients’ needs with my ever-growing understanding of physiology, behavior, communication, emotional experience, and both physical and psychological trauma. My work is always an ongoing conversation, and I view my sessions as an offering of reciprocity for all varieties of clients, needs, and experiences. In a world which is so often purely transactional and filled with rudimentary care, I work hard to build genuine and honest relationships, and to always be learning how I can offer my very best to my clients.
